History of Agility:

Agility is one of the fastest-growing dog sports in the country, originating in England in 1978 as halftime entertainment at the Crufts Dog Show. Founded in 1986, The United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA) became the pioneer in organized dog agility sports. The AKC hosted its first 23 agility trials with around 2,000 entries in 1994, and by 2008, over 2,100 trials were held nationwide with approximately 839,000 entries! In this exciting sport, you and your dog race through a timed obstacle course with 14-20 challenges, while your dog relies on your cues and body language to navigate the course. Agility is open to all breeds, including mixed breeds, offering a dynamic and fun experience for both handler and dog.
